SurA Chemicals GmbH was founded in 1998 as a research-based company and is located in Bucha close to Jena (Germany). The company has a long experience and an extensive know-how in the fields of protective and decorative coatings, adhesives, special chemicals such as hydrophobic agents and adhesion promoters, systems and equipment for surface pretreatment, as well as contract manufacturing for the development and production of customer-specific products. The focus of our technologies and innovative products is on the sectors of chemical industry, automotive, microelectronics, electrical engineering, healthcare, optics, glass & metal industry, plastics processing, printing and graphics industry, as also solar technology. Furthermore, the company participates in various national and international public funded research projects. SurA Chemicals GmbH is TÜV certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015.
The role of SurA Chemicals GmbH within the project is to support in development, modification and characterization of the hybrid materials as well as the cellulosic materials. By tailor-made hydrophobizing of the materials, a temporary water resistance of the mulch paper can be achieved and, consequently, an increased stability of the mulch paper during the utilization can be reached.
Moreover, SurA Chemicals GmbH will develop methods for the incorporation of cellulosic materials into the hybrid coating systems. The characterization and tests of the coatings and papers will be performed as well.
The most promising systems will be tested in large scale. For this, SurA Chemicals GmbH will provide the necessary coating materials in the appropriate quantities.
To reach the targeted goals, the project partners work hand in hand and to make sure that the results can be transferred into the production process after the end of the project, and an intensive exchange between the partners and countries is achieved. The project work is portioned in various technical activities, which, in addition to the important aspects such as reporting, dissemination and explications represent the center of the project.
